August - Week 2

Meditation/Journal Exercise

When you find yourself struggling with negative feelings towards a certain person (or group of people) that you have labeled as "bad", and who may be causing a lot of turmoil in your mind due to a conflict or the discomfort that you feel around them, make a conscious effort to explore their positive traits and their positive potential. When you set the intention to begin viewing their good traits you might be amazed to discover that their negative traits don't seem as noticeable or a strong as you once perceived them to be. Even if you come to the conclusion that for your own health you must distance yourself from them, when you work to recognize positive traits within them you are freeing yourself from the prison of hatred and from the narrow confines of a judgmental mind.
